Urland Communications
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 August 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Urland Communications ("we", "us", "our") processes personal data collected through this website. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR") and the Norwegian Personal Data Act (personopplysningsloven).
1. Data Controller
Urland Communications, operated by Beatrice Urland, Grimstad, Norway, is the data controller responsible for the processing of personal data described in this policy. Inquiries regarding this policy or our processing of personal data may be directed to beatrice.urland@icloud.com.
2. Personal Data We Collect
When you submit the contact form on this website, we collect the following personal data: your name, your email address, and the contents of your message. We do not collect any other personal data through this website, and the website does not use user accounts, advertising, or analytics services. In addition, our hosting provider automatically records limited technical data, including IP addresses, in short-lived server logs for security and operational purposes.
3. Purpose and Legal Basis
Personal data submitted through the contact form is processed solely to review and respond to your inquiry and, where relevant, to prepare and deliver services you request. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — processing necessary in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract. The processing of technical server logs is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in maintaining the security and stability of the website. Personal data is not used for marketing purposes, is not sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes, and is not subject to profiling or automated decision-making.
4. Data Processors and Recipients
We use the following data processors: our website hosting provider (serving of this website), FormSubmit (transmission of contact form submissions to us by email), and Apple Inc. (iCloud Mail, for receipt and storage of email correspondence). These providers process personal data on our behalf and in accordance with applicable data processing agreements.
5. Transfers Outside the EEA
Our data processors may store or process personal data on servers located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Such transfers take place in accordance with Chapter V of the GDPR, on the basis of appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Cookies and Tracking
This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics, and does not load third-party scripts or resources. All fonts and other assets are served directly from the website itself. As no consent-requiring technologies are used, no cookie consent banner is displayed.
7. Retention
Personal data submitted through the contact form is retained only for as long as necessary to handle the inquiry and any resulting business relationship. When the data is no longer needed, it is deleted from both the form submission dashboard and our email inbox.
8. Your Rights
Under Articles 15–21 of the GDPR, you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, the right to rectification of inaccurate data, the right to erasure, the right to restriction of processing, the right to object to processing, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at beatrice.urland@icloud.com. We will respond without undue delay and no later than one month after receiving your request.
9. Complaints
If you believe our processing of personal data infringes the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Norway, the competent authority is Datatilsynet (the Norwegian Data Protection Authority), www.datatilsynet.no.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our services or in legal requirements. The current version will always be available on this page, together with the date of the most recent revision.
